Third Annual Cocktails for the Cure Set for Oct. 23rd

On the heels of last year’s successful second event the third annual Cocktails for the Cure fundraiser has been set for Friday, October 23rd . After years of 5k, 2-day and 3-day walks Kendall Carre and co-chair Jasvina Gill created Cocktails for the Cure to honor Carre’s mother, who died from breast cancer 12 years ago as well as their many friends and loved ones lost to or fighting breast cancer, and to continue in the fight to find a cure for the deadly disease. “What better way to celebrate survivors and the lives of those we’ve lost to breast cancer than with cocktails, good friends and raising money for a great cause,” explains Carre.

Stepping up the sophistication level of this year’s event Walker Zanger’s impressive tile showroom in Tustin will be the venue this year from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Those in attendance will be numerous building industry leaders, associates and friends who will enjoy cocktails, appetizers, swag bags, a silent auction, and more.

Early sponsors include the Sales & Marketing Council of Southern California, China Doll Foods, and Walker Zanger.

New this year the event will be open to both women and men. “In our first two years we were starting small and held it at Kendall’s personal residence,” says Gill. “But with the Walker Zanger showroom as our new venue we can accommodate so many more people. It only seemed natural to invite the guys as guests and broaden our reach.”

Gill and Carre ask each attendee to submit a minimum $25.00 donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for admittance. Last year’s response was overwhelmingly positive. The group expects to double their attendance to the event this year as well as their donation efforts.

The group is accepting sponsorships and in-kind donations for the event as well as auction items.
